Opaque twist glassware began to be produced by craftsmen in Beykoz during the reign of Sultan Selim III (1789-1807). Rods of colored crystal glass were incorporated into the crystal glass body and twisted to produce spiraling designs. These designs were likened to nightingales' eyes, and hence this ware became known as " Eye of the Nightingale” in Turkish. Opaque twist glassware is produced by traditional methods by Pasabahce. Width : 12 cm. Height : 18,5 cm. Handmade in Turkey.
